Welcome to the Calgary Iaido Club

News What is Iaido? About us Instructor Progressing in Iaido

Hello Iaidoka and friends.

We are finally very happy to announce our Summer Seminar! All details can be found on this website. http://seidokai.ca/iai-nitenseminar.html

We've got Niten, Jodo and Iaido training slotted in. Tell your friends - get the word out. It will be nice to have registrations come in sooner rather than later.

For those of us in the Calgary Iaido Club, it is my sincere hope that most of us will do our best to make it for at least the Iaido portions of training. Kim Taylor sensei is only one of two 7th dans in Canada. He's coming a long way, is an encyclopedia of knowledge and training in Niten, Iaido and Jodo. It will be great to show him our dedication to training!

The Calgary Iaido Club has changed locations. We will now be training at St. Matthew's United Church which is about three blocks away from our old location. The address for the church is 2039 26A St SW Calgary which can be seen on a map here. This news does not affect the location of the seminar, we will still be holding the seminar at the Salvation Army Children's village.

Thank you to all those who came out to help with the food bank on Tuesday the 15th, it was much appreciated and a lot of fun. We hope to see everyone and more at the next volunteer opportunity. For all that information and more be sure to check out the event page.

The CKF has a new membership payment system on their website to keep track of those who are paying (or not paying) their dues. As such it is now up to individual club members to pay their CKF fees as opposed to Chris paying a lump sum each year on the clubs behalf. You can find all the new information here as well a link in the Iaidoka Corner page.

We still need a few volunteers for this coming Tuesday's (July 15th) volunteer night at the food bank. If you'd like to participate and/or need more information please send Chris an e-mail at cmgilham@hotmail.com.
